Dairy Free, Soya Free, Egg Free Pizza

Here is a great pizza recipe. We make this all the time in our house and goes down a treat with my son and husband. See below for dairy free version if you are a Mum breast feeding a baby with CMA or you are feeding a child with CMA.

Ingredients

Ready rolled Pizza base, such as Pizza Express which is soya and dairy free.

Tomato sauce

2 tablespoons of Olive oil

1 large garlic clove or 2 small

Tin of tomatoes

1 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar

1 teaspoon of Italian mixed herbs

Salt and pepper (leave out if feeding a baby)

Mozzarella cheese or Violife vegan grated cheese (if dairy free)

Toppings of choice- don't give very salty meats to a baby eg bacon, pepperoni, salami.

 Method

  1.  Place the oil in a pan and let heat up
  2. Grate the garlic into the hot oil and let it roast until golden brown for a minute or so.
  3. Add tinned tomatoes and let simmer for a few minute. Using a potato masher mash down the chopped tomatoes to a smoother texture.
  4. Add balsamic vinegar, mixed herbs, salt and pepper.
  5. Let the tomato sauce cool a little. Whilst it's cooling, roll out the pastry and add to a large baking try.
  6. Pour on the tomato sauce and spread out.
  7. Then add the cheese and toppings of choice.
  8. Cook in a preheated oven at 220 oC for approx 20 minutes

 Eat and enjoy. If you have a fussy eater in the house get them involved with the cooking process. It helps to expose them to new smell and encourages them to touch food and gives them an appreciation of how food is created.
